How difficult is the hike to the viewpoint?

The walk to Bukit Selong is very easy and beginner-friendly. It only takes about 5 to 10 minutes from the parking area. The path leads you through a beautiful bamboo grove and has a gentle incline, making it accessible for almost everyone.

The entrance fee is highly affordable. It typically costs around IDR 10,000 to IDR 15,000 per person, plus a small parking fee for motorbikes or cars. (Note: Prices are subject to change, so it's always good to bring small cash notes).

To catch the spectacular golden hour, we recommend arriving at the parking area by 5:30 AM. This gives you plenty of time to walk up, find a good spot on the wooden viewing platforms, and watch the sun rise over the patchwork fields and mountains.

Yes! Because the walk is short and not strenuous, it is a fantastic destination for families. Just be mindful of children near the edges of the viewing decks.

No guide is necessary. The path from the parking area to the viewpoint is straightforward, well-maintained, and easy to navigate on your own.

Yes, near the entrance and parking area, you will find a few local warungs (small stalls) selling hot coffee, tea, cup noodles, and snacks. A hot drink is perfect for warming up in the chilly Sembalun morning air!

Absolutely. The geometric agricultural fields and the surrounding peaks of Mount Rinjani make this one of the most popular spots in Lombok for drone photography. We just ask that you fly responsibly and be mindful of other visitors enjoying the peace of the valley.

Because Sembalun is situated at a high altitude (around 1,156 meters above sea level), mornings and evenings can drop to 15°C (59°F) or lower. We highly recommend bringing a warm jacket or sweater if you are visiting for sunrise.
